From the Very Beginning
The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Dominion Chapel was planted by RCCG Ladipo Oluwole Street, Ikeja and had its first service at Long Life International (now Hackney) Hotel, Ipaja on January 10th, 1993, later moved to Abesan Estate Gate. The parish then moved to her permanent site in Gowon Estate: 3rd Avenue, 11th Road in the year 2000, and the name was changed to Dominion Cathedral since then.
It became a Province Headquarters on September 1, 2003, and Pastor Olusegun Osunsan was the first Pastor in Charge of the Province for 7 years and created Lagos Province 25: Gateway Parish.
In September 2010, Pastor CAF Obasa took over as the Pastor in charge of Province and he served in that capacity for four years of which he created Lagos Province 38: Destiny Sanctuary.
In 2014 however, Pastor Ola Adejubee assumed the office as the PICP. He also served for four years and created Lagos Province 72: Divine Covenant Cathedral.
Pastor Timothy Olaniyan became the PICP in 2018 and during his tenure, he created Lagos Province 90: Rivers of Living Waters in 2021 and Lagos Province 94: Court of His Majesty in 2022 respectively before Lagos Province 12 relocated to Chapel of Liberty, Baruwa in September, 2022.
Provinces created are:
Province 25 – Gateway Parish (Pst. Debo Akande PP) in the year 2010;
Province 38 – Destiny Sanctuary (Pst. Asaolu PP) in the year 2014;
Province 72 – Divine Covenant Cathedral (Pst. Tayo Abiodun) in the year 2018;
Province 90 – Rivers of Living Waters (Pst. Olusade Paul) in the year 2021;
Province 94 – Court of His Majesty (Pst. Fred Odekhian) in the Year 2022.
On September 1, 2022, RCCG Dominion Cathedral became the headquarters parish of RCCG Continent 3 with its coverage in the Middle East, Turkey and southwest Nigeria. The continental overseer is Pastor Johnson Funsho Odesola.
